An Appointment With Death

This book is written by Agatha Christie. This book is very very interesting and can be read in one day during reading all you can imagine is where this is going and constantly keep on thinking about who and how and it’s the end when you catch on.

I hight recommend to read this book totally intriguing and indulging. It’s a psychological book giving into the mentality and thinking of a Boynton family, their mother and family members, who have come for an international holiday where they meet Sarah Kings, Dr Gerad who is psychologist where Mrs Boynton dies and Mr.Hercule Piot solves the case.

There is this one thing which I like as well as dislike about detective books, it’s the fact that there are always many suspect and listing to their side of story and listing evidence while reading we get so indulged that we don’t get to realise who minute things do matter which indeed are essential to solve the case.

*spoilers Ahead*

When Sarah first meets Dr.Gerad she describes Boynton family there is several views for the particular behaviour of the family and tries to explain things.

The best part of the book was how well it asks questions, makes us ask the same question and gives a possible answer and then suddenly connects and gives us another answer. Many parts have been repeatedly as the same story is told by all the family members and friends in their point of view. I which Detective Hercules points out to them how they must have killed The old woman but later reveals all he wanted to prove was the innocence of the family members.

For me the best part of the book was the ending totally not expected though hints were dropped every now and then in the book how it ended was not something we would have expected.

But it kind of made me feel again that what’s the point of reading when none of the suspects are ever the actual killer.

But it’s one of the best book out there and worth a read. The way it is written is precious every chapter giving tit bit of hints about woh is the killer. I really enjoyed reading it.

Turtles All The Way Down

Turtles all the way down is written by Jhon Green. This book is a good read but I do not list it as a must read book.

I really liked the concept and the way it is written but I didn’t find the story very amusing or something that you can read in one sitting.

This story is about the lead heroine who is of anxious type and her best friend and a childhood friend whose father goes missing. They get together to find his father.

*spoilers ahead*

So as the story begins Aza Holmes and her best friend Daisy are listening to radio when they come to know that Russel Picket father of Davis Picket has now become a fugitive.

Since Aza is his childhood friend Daisy suggests they can find Russel and can be rich.

Aza is an Anxious person who has a habit of over thinking about the microbials around her, she has this tendency to get easily nervous and dig her nail in the skin of the thumb and disinfect it using a sanitizer and wrap a band-aid around it. While daizy is very enthusiastic person. Aza father had died and. Her mother was a teacher in her school.

Davis likes Aza but is afraid that she gets close to him just for her father and gives her bribe to not investigate about his disappearance as well as is afraid about his younger brother who only wants to find his father.

After series of events they finally do find their father but decides to move out of their present home.

The plus point about this book was the description of the microbial flora how they affect us and giving us an insite about the feelings of an Anxious person.

There is this line which Aza says that her grandmother once told her-“The earth is held on the shell of a huge turtle who is standing on another turtle and it’s turtle all the way down.”

Similarly when we are anxious we try to think about something else and just keep on thinking about it, like in spirals.

I love the quotes and lines written by Davis in his blogs. I didn’t really get how Aza finally find Russell’s whereabouts and his mentality.

But I do believe that it’s an eye-opening book that I did enjoy reading.

Into The Water

“Beckford is not a suicide spot. Beckford is a place to get rid of troublesome women.”

Into the water is a psychological suspense thriller written by Paula Hawkins published by Transworld Publishers it contains 430 pages.

The book starts with the death of Nel Abbott and her estranged sister is going to take care of her daughter.

This book contains multiple mysteries and keep you totally engrossed with whatever is going to happen next, also it is written in different characters perspective so you would know what that person would be thinking at that particular scene.

Complex relationship and the complexity of the human mind is also a focus of the book.

The story is written in the town of Beckford and lives of all the characters are somehow intermingled making you to suspect each one of them.

The mysteries of the drowning pool and the death of Katie Whittaker and Nel Abbott. This is so interesting that you keep on reading anticipating you don’t even know whom do you want to be the suspect.

The ending is so unpredictable, that leave you speechless.

All in All this book is too good and a must read on my list, the way it is written is one of the plus points, how all the mysteries are unravelled layer by layer is another one, I loved this book and recommend all to read it.
