The Girl in Room no.105

The girl in room No. 105 is another Chetan Bhagat book, I really loved the book. It’s a murder mystery thriller which would keep you buckled up and engaged till the last chapter.

The story is basically about the love story between Keshav and Zara which ends tragically after the death of Zara.

The story starts as usual with the Keshav meeting with the author on a flight journey. He tells about how he and Zara first met each other and then got to know each other falling in love and being in a relationship.

They drift apart for due to certain reasons, but Keshav can’t get over her for so many years and call her on her on new year but she brushes him off. Things change when she messages him on her birthday telling him to come over to her room 105 only for him to find her dead.

Keshav cannot believe she is dead and thinks that it is a murder and spends time apart from teaching at coaching centre to solve this murder mystery along with his best friend Golu.

The best part of this book is the way it is written, being a lover for mysteries I have realised one thing common in them that is the killer is some one you just don’t suspect so I know that whoever is the suspect at the start of the book is probably those who are innocent.

The particularity of the book was it took one suspect at a time, like they suspect one person fit their theory analyse it and realise why the person cannot be the killer and then some other clues leading to another suspect.

My favourite character would be Golu, because he is one true friend that is really hard to find. He is loyal, loving, caring person. He stands with Keshav whatever it maybe and always supports him.

My least favourite character would be Zara, I felt sorry for Keshav when she died but he did loved her a lot, but as the story progresses so many facts and secrets are opened up about her, though a bold and truly amazing personality the way her life ends up is worth a lesson.

It was really thrilling to read this book and I would definitely recommend others to read it.

Long Lost

Long Lost is an amazing thriller written by Harlan Coben which contains 372 pages and 39 chapters.

The story is basically about Terese Collins who is ex-lover of Myron Bolitar and calls him after 8 years for something which leads to something life threatening.

The story is a real roller coaster ride, it begins with mystery and ends with mystery. When I started reading this book, I just couldn’t keep it down, so many emotions flow through when we read.

The story starts with Myron friend Win telling him there is a secret of Terese, but he refuses to know.

He gets a call from Terese after 8 long years and tells him to come to Paris after reaching there he gets to know that she had got a call from her Ex-husband telling her to come to Paris and he could tell her something that can change her entire life, but they then find that he is murdered and Terese is a suspect.

Things get messed up starting that, they discover things that started 10 years ago in a car accident, and after the suicide of Rick’s father Sam things get complicated and messed up with terrorists and even have to run for life.

 *Spoiler Alert*

The only thing that I was a bit disappointed about would be the ending another chapter could have been added showing the conversation with Carrie if that was her real name.

Till the end I couldn’t figure out who killed Ricky and Mario, never the name of the killer was mentioned, but Carrie was seen in both sites. I am curious about how Terese went away with Carrie no such conversation is mentioned.

I can’t say if Carrie is innocent or not, her character doesn’t seem like it but maybe everyone do deserve a second chance in life so it’s acceptable.

Lastly the ending I assumed the boy to be child of Terese and Myron as he has blond head and perfect posture but I read somewhere it was supposed to tell that in the investigation some terrorist did get a chance to slip away.

Since this is a complete series, I hope it would have been mentioned in the next series or something.

My favourite character would be Win, he was just awesome, he helps Myron every time and loves him dearly plus is a free spirit.

My least favourite character would be Terese as she never do consider the feelings of other people in her life the moment she decides to vanish which was often.

This is one of the best books that I have read till now and definitely recommend everyone to read it.

An Appointment With Death

This book is written by Agatha Christie. This book is very very interesting and can be read in one day during reading all you can imagine is where this is going and constantly keep on thinking about who and how and it’s the end when you catch on.

I hight recommend to read this book totally intriguing and indulging. It’s a psychological book giving into the mentality and thinking of a Boynton family, their mother and family members, who have come for an international holiday where they meet Sarah Kings, Dr Gerad who is psychologist where Mrs Boynton dies and Mr.Hercule Piot solves the case.

There is this one thing which I like as well as dislike about detective books, it’s the fact that there are always many suspect and listing to their side of story and listing evidence while reading we get so indulged that we don’t get to realise who minute things do matter which indeed are essential to solve the case.

*spoilers Ahead*

When Sarah first meets Dr.Gerad she describes Boynton family there is several views for the particular behaviour of the family and tries to explain things.

The best part of the book was how well it asks questions, makes us ask the same question and gives a possible answer and then suddenly connects and gives us another answer. Many parts have been repeatedly as the same story is told by all the family members and friends in their point of view. I which Detective Hercules points out to them how they must have killed The old woman but later reveals all he wanted to prove was the innocence of the family members.

For me the best part of the book was the ending totally not expected though hints were dropped every now and then in the book how it ended was not something we would have expected.

But it kind of made me feel again that what’s the point of reading when none of the suspects are ever the actual killer.

But it’s one of the best book out there and worth a read. The way it is written is precious every chapter giving tit bit of hints about woh is the killer. I really enjoyed reading it.

Into The Water

“Beckford is not a suicide spot. Beckford is a place to get rid of troublesome women.”

Into the water is a psychological suspense thriller written by Paula Hawkins published by Transworld Publishers it contains 430 pages.

The book starts with the death of Nel Abbott and her estranged sister is going to take care of her daughter.

This book contains multiple mysteries and keep you totally engrossed with whatever is going to happen next, also it is written in different characters perspective so you would know what that person would be thinking at that particular scene.

Complex relationship and the complexity of the human mind is also a focus of the book.

The story is written in the town of Beckford and lives of all the characters are somehow intermingled making you to suspect each one of them.

The mysteries of the drowning pool and the death of Katie Whittaker and Nel Abbott. This is so interesting that you keep on reading anticipating you don’t even know whom do you want to be the suspect.

The ending is so unpredictable, that leave you speechless.

All in All this book is too good and a must read on my list, the way it is written is one of the plus points, how all the mysteries are unravelled layer by layer is another one, I loved this book and recommend all to read it.
